Cleveland Sales Company was established in 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio U.S.A. for the purpose of selling electric motor accessories arbors. As the company grew and expanded, its manufacturing operations and products were separated. A new group, "CLESCO" was formed as the manufacturer, while the original Cleveland Sales Company continued to grow as a wholesaler and sales representative. This was the start of CLESCO Manufacturing.
Clesco moved its main plant and headquarters from Cleveland to its current location in suburban Willoughby in 1968.
