The tradition of production of cemented carbides in Czechoslovakia started in the 1930¡¯s. The production was on high European level even then. From this tradition results the production of cemented carbide in Pramet Tools. The production of parts from cemented carbide and cutting tools with cemented carbide started in Šumerk in 1951.
The 50 years of tradition and experience in production of cemented carbide, material quality and research and development enables Pramet Tools to keep the leading position on Czech market and to expand in export markets.
Since 1999 started the new stage of Pramet Tools. The capital was increased to 250 millions of CZK and the resources were used to purchase the assets. The investments that follow came from within. The information systems were modernised and optimised, R&D, production and sales department were moved to new area. The company invested in new technologies for production of indexable cutting inserts, extended development activities, intensified the technical service and counselling to the customers.
At present Pramet Tools delivers its products to the whole world, but the main emphasis is the European market.
Since 2000 Pramet Tools completely innovated the whole production assortment of tools for cutting operations, grades, design and geometries, and grades for forming and pressing tools made of cemented carbides.
New assortment fully complies with demands of modern technological processes and the performance increased greatly to our previous offering.
In 1996 Pramet Tools acquired the ISO 9001 certificate from Lloyd¡¯s Register Quality Assurance and in year 2002 it was upgraded to the new regulation ISO 9001:2000.
Customer audits according to regulations VDA were successfully fulfilled.
