Manson Tool & Supply Co., Inc. was established as a General Line Industrial Distributor in January, 1950, located in the old tooling district of Manhattan in New York City. During the years in New York City, Manson Tool developed a strong reputation as a specialist in Precision Measuring Tools. As one of the L.S. Starrett Company's largest stocking distributors in the nation, Manson became the sure choice to locate the entire Starrett line of micrometers, vernier calipers, depth gages, dial calipers, dial indicators and related shop measuring tools. Not only was the stock available, but expertise on special tooling and repair parts was always on call. That reputation still exists today.
In December, 1980, Manson Tool relocated to its current location in Thornwood, NY. In addition to its large Starrett inventory, the stock of cutting tools (taps, drills, end mills and cutters) expanded. Specialty lines such as Heli Coil screw thread inserts and 3M Abrasives and Scotch-Brite products were added.
Main Tool Supply Corporation of North White Plains, NY and Van Emmerik Tool Supply of Ramsey, NJ were acquired in January, 1997. These acquisitions brought new strengths to Manson Tool. Main Tool had a solid reputation as experts in specialty cutting tools and tooling components. Well-known lines such as Carr Lane, Onsrud routers, Vlier spring plungers, DeStaCo clamps, Reif & Nestor taps and Guhring drills became available to Manson Tool. Van Emmerik was a well-known distributor of carbide tooling and storage equipment in North New Jersey with lines like Lista cabinets, Lyons shelving, Toolflo carbide inserts, Newcomer carbide products, and Metal Removal carbide cutting tools. Manson Tool is proud to announce the addition of the Carboloy/Seco line of carbide inserts and related tooling.
