Research and Production Corporation "Abrasives & Grinding" (NPK "Abrasives & Grinding") was founded on base of The All-Russia Research Institute for Abrasives & Grinding - VNIIASh and Opytny Abrazivny Zavod.
The VNIIASh with its State accreditation as a research institution and with an independent certification agency and an analytical laboratory at its disposal certificates some types of abrasive products and performs a broad range of developments in the abrasive tool technology.
The Institute using its production facilities produces practically all popular types of abrasive tools and exports its abrasive products to the world over.
For years we have been developing methods and techniques for nondestructive acoustic and electromagnetic testing of abrasive materials and tools.
Recent developments of new bonds in combination with a series of technological 'Know-How' have enabled a wide range of high performance grinding wheels, first of all Diamond/CBN, to be developed and produced in volume.
Diamond/CBN abrasive products are noted for high durability and wear resistance making them economically attractive and particularly suitable for a range of industrial applications such as tool sharpening, I.D., surface, profile as well as deep grinding of difficult-to-machine materials including composites, cemented carbides, carbide ceramics, heat-resistant and high-speed steels, etc.
The VNIIASh is a member of the Russian Association of Producers of Abrasives (APA).
Owing to high competitiveness the VNIIASh developed and produced abrasive products are in stable demand in Russia and abroad.
