Our History Roditor & Philadelphia is one of the most important manufacturers in the world of products used for surface treatment and polishing of metal.
Roditor started out as a small company and was founded in 1958 in the town of Verolanuova, Brescia for the sole purpose of supplying local industries operating in the surface treatment sector.
As time progressed, "Confezioni Dischi Roditor snc", Roditor's original name, gained greater stature and popularity and began to expand.
At the beginning of the seventies, customers not only wanted to order mops but compound too. This had not yet been produced.
During this period, Mr. Pugnetti, an expert in the manufacture of abrasive compound, was operating as a sole trader in Brescia. It soon became obvious to both the partners of "Confezioni Dischi Roditor snc" and Mr. Pugnetti that strength in numbers was never more appropriate than in this case and was definitely the only way to proceed.
Philadelphia Chemical srl. was then founded. The name Philadelphia took its name from the way the company was set up in 1972. The original premises soon became inadequate and so the company transferred to larger, newer works in Via San Donnino, 13.
In 1980, the merger between Confezioni Dischi Roditor snc and Philadelphia Chemical srl. created a situation whereby it could take full advantage of the economies of scale, which were immediately available, due to the natural homogeneity of the client base.
In 1991, mop production was also transferred to Via San Donnino, 13. Only the company's administration department remained at the historic headquarters based in Via San Rocco, 60, also in Verolanuova.
In 1999, the premises in Via San Rocco, 60 were also abandoned and all aspects of the company's activities; production, administration and sales, were all converged at the Works based in Via San Donnino, 13.
