Offering the products of 28 manufacturers
Metalex 2011, Southeast Asia's largest machine tools, industrial tools, and metalworking technologies international exhibition, was held in December 2011 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), located in the outskirts of Bangkok. A total of 56,175 people attended.
Despite concern regarding the effects of flood damage and a drop in attendance of about 10,000 people (compared to 66,743 in 2010), those involved were pleasantly surprised at the high level of activity. Though held annually in mid-November, Metalex 2011 was instead conducted during the four days of December 21 to 24 due to the Thailand flooding. According to the organizers, exhibitors from 50 countries and territories numbered approximately 2,700, about the same as the previous year. Exhibitor booths offered numerous new and exciting products and technologies in machine tools, tools, and industrial equipment.
Yamazen Thailand has exhibited at Metalex since its inception. At Metalex 2011, we set up a 448-m2 booth in Hall 103. There, we exhibited the latest equipment from eight machine tool manufactures, including a Brother Industries tapping machine, Citizen Machinery Miyano CNC lathe, Toyo Machinery & Metal hydraulic die-casting machine, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries machining center, Makino EDM, and Shizuoka Machine Tool CNC milling machine. Also on offer were such equipment as industrial tools, industrial equipment, and aids for environmental improvement from 20 companies, including Amada, Mitutoyo, Japan Automatic Machine, Nikken Kosakusho, Magnescale, OSG, Nitto Kohki, Yukiwa Seiko, MST Corporation, Akamatsu Electric Mfg (ONIKAZE), Lobtex, Yodogawa Electric Tool Mfg, and Mitsui Seiki Kogyo. In total, made-in-Japan products from a total of 28 manufacturers were put on show.
During the exhibition, the Y amazen booth hosted successfully drew approximately 500 visitors. Interest in made-in-Japan products was high, and response at the venue was very good. We were also able to express our full commitment to recovery.
This year's Metalex 2012 will be held from November 21 to 24.
