The large diamond confab to take in Israel in two weeks' time will now feature, among other events, a public sale of gems, including large fancy colored stones, run by French-Israeli auctioneers Tzoffey's, the Israel Diamond Exchange said in a press release. On August 25, 26 and 27, Tsoffey's remarkable selection of polished diamonds will be on display in an area adjacent to the IDE's main trading floor, and on the 28th of the month, the third day of U.S. / International Diamond Week, the actual auction will take place.
Tzoffey's principal Avner Sofiov praised the Israeli diamond industry and noted the excellent variety of diamonds made available in Ramat Gan. IDE president Yair Sahar heaped compliments upon Sofiov, noting his ability to ascertain and acquire unique gems, and expressed his belief that the upcoming diamond confab will be a major coup for the bourse.
Among the impressive stones to be auctioned off by Tzoffey's include a 50-carat cushion shaped fancy intense yellow VS diamond and a 77.52-carat fancy orange deep brown cushion shaped Type II-A diamond.
